When To Hire a Substack Copywriter ...Like Me!
Your Words Matter... Make Them Count
When should you consider hiring a copywriter for your Substack?
It’s a good question.
And, it’s not one that most Substackers ever consider…and often to their detriment.

Why?
Several reasons:
Most Substackers believe they are adequate writers and are confident in their ability to persuade readers to subscribe or sell something.
Unfortunately, most are mistaken.
The psychological elements of persuasive writing need to be taken into account.
Those elements also need to match the vocabulary and mindset of their target audience.
Being a good writer doesn’t make you a persuasive writer.
How can you tell if you need a copywriter’s services?
Answer these questions:
Are you attracting 5-10 new subscribers every day?
After subscribing or finding you on Notes, do readers often like several of your posts?
Is there a logical sequence that naturally leads a new visitor from your welcome page blurb to your home page, your hero post, and the About page where they subscribe?
If you responded with a 😒 or a 😵💫, you need a copywriter’s opinion.
Will it cost money?
Of course, it will.
But this is your business. Unless you’re on Substack only to publish your journal, I assume you’re here to make money.
You know the old adage, “To make money, you have to spend money.”
In my experience, Writers typically have difficulty with this concept. We think we’re…well…superheroes who can do it all.
This thinking will keep you frustrated and poor, and you will wonder why.
Contrary to what the Marvel Universe and DC Comics would have us believe, superheroes aren’t born; they’re made.
Let’s see if we’re a good fit
