Instead of Building a First Class Lounge for Private Jet Passengers, I'd Unknowingly Erected a Run-Down Terminal for Greyhound Bus Riders
GUESS WHICH HAD MORE MONEY TO SPEND?
When no one was buying my services or joining the PTP Online Community, I used to think…
“It’s a numbers game…I need a lot more leads to make some sales.”
But that wasn’t the appropriate response at all. It was an excuse. I blamed my subscribers for not buying (so very sorry…🙄).
While it wasn’t their fault in any way, it wasn’t entirely mine either
We’ve all been conditioned to think that more leads translate to more conversions and sales. My thinking just followed that of the herd. 🐮
But that’s not the way the relationship between leads and sales works.
‘Am I reaching enough people?’ wasn’t the question I should’ve been asking. Instead, the appropriate question was, “What can I do differently to reach the people ready to buy?”
How I got into this mess
Without knowing it, I’d been calling out to people who would never subscribe, comment, or like a single post, much less ever consider making a purchase.
To continue our transportation metaphor, they weren’t private jet passengers; they were Greyhound bus riders.
That was never the plan.
I had to turn things around.
So, I looked over every post and saw I’d been giving away a lot of value and instantly knew that was the problem.
My mentors tried to tell me many times that value-based posts weren’t my friends
Writing posts that are packed with value, such as ‘How To…’ and ‘Why You Should…’ posts, is great for attracting followers (usually beginners without much cash) but terrible for making serious money.
Making serious money is why I’m in business. I’m not running an altruistic charity. Making money isn’t just about having a big following; it’s about attracting the right followers.
To find the right audience, I focused on private jet passengers so I could talk to those willing to spend.
Want To Know How I Started Attracting Private Jet Passengers?
I changed my messaging style. Over a few weeks, I saw an uptick in subscribers who didn’t ghost me, asked valid and engaging questions, and were willing to buy.
Here is how you can get all the details. 👇🏼
