How To Generate $250 in the Next 48 Hours by Implementing a Simple Idea
Need Some Quick Cash? Generate $250 by Implementing a Flash Workshop
Too much month left over at the end of the cash?
We’ve all been there.
Here’s an idea for generating some quick cash when you really need to know you can get paid to write if you put your mind to it.
Create an Irresistible 60-Minute Flash Workshop
Workshops are easy to present using Zoom, either as a talking head or as a set of slides that you’ll send out as a PDF in a subsequent email.
Choose a topic your target audience (TA) can’t help but be curious about — preferably one that your TA struggles with, like growing a subscriber base or starting a podcast.
Better still is to choose a problem that you already solved.
Create your irresistible offer (do this offline) describing what they’ll receive (WIIFT), how they will be in a better position after attending the workshop (TRANSFORMATION), and what results they expect in the short and long term (OUTCOMES).
Before the sign-up page goes live, create and build interest by publishing separate articles about the workshop on your Substack, Medium, Facebook page, and other spaces you inhabit in cyberspace.
Create a sales/sign-up page for the workshop on Substack, your Website, or a devoted webpage using Caard containing your offer.
Create scarcity using a 48-hour countdown timer and then pull the offer after 48 hours.
IMPORTANT:
SET THE PRICE AT LESS AT $20-$25 (you’re after volume)
STATE THAT A REPLAY WILL BE SENT (permission to purchase and watch later)
PULL THE OFFER AFTER THE 48 HOURS PASSES (no exceptions, even if no one signs up — be true to your word)
Create social media panels/posts via Canva or some other app to spread the word about your workshop.
Blitz your social networks with your panels and posts for 48 hours. It’s a temporary flurry that will be forgotten. That’s the way social media works. Remember, no one sees everything you post, so post anyway.
As people sign up and pay, you not only have your cohort for the workshop but also generate a tidy little bundle of cash. Remember, at $25/ person, all it takes is 10 people to generate $250.
When your workshop is over, send a thank-you email and the promised PDF of your slides/recording/transcript to all who purchased the workshop — whether they attended or not.
Guess What? You’ve Got a New Digital Product!
You’ve got a new product to sell on your website or on Gumroad or wherever you prefer to market your book and digital products.
Your recorded video workshop is a stand-alone product and can be sold to many more people over the years.
If you’re new to Substack and aren’t part of the ‘Substack Elite,’ sell your recorded video workshop product for $35. A $10 markup is enough to encourage buyers after the fact to opt into your next workshop at a lower price.
Bonus: Let’s Do It Again!
It’s not hard to imagine hosting a workshop monthly or every six weeks or so for your TA, right? Once you’ve done this a few times, it can be a dependable way to build a recurring revenue stream and an expanding digital product collection to assist your readers and clients further.
You get a say…
So, what do you think….. are workshops doable for you? Can you see a workshop model fitting into your business revenue and customer service mission?
Think I’m all wet? Let me know! I’m all 👂🏼s.
Nice approach, it really works! I have done that last year before joining Substack for $99 lasting 1.5 hours and got 7 participants - imagine I concentrate the transformative value to one hour for a no-brainer price. Thanks for the encouragement, Barry (sharing your tip with my audience of "Writing in Cafés" tomorrow).
I just started a challenge for sell for a least a dollar a day and I might very well try this out! Thanks for sharing.
